LOGAN, Utah - The No. 6 Cougars won the Steve Reeder Invite Friday afternoon, behind a first overall finish from sophomore Hunter Kitchen.

Kitchen, who led for the majority of the race, crossed the line in 20:11, marking his first career cross country individual win. Just seven seconds later, senior Jackson Henstrom finished in 21:19 to take second.
Carter Cutting finished tenth in 21:42 with Caleb Johnson finishing just miliseconds later. Patrick Cullen rounded out the Cougars top five finishing thirteenth overall in a time of 21:48.
“It was a really good cumulation of hard work and preparation for the season," assistant coach Ryan Waite said. “I’m really happy for Hunter, who won his first-ever cross country race. He kept developing year after year to the point where he could finally come out on top."
The Cougars finished 43 points ahead of second-place Weber State.
