GREENSBORO, N.C. — BYU finished the first day of the Wolfpack Elite Invite hosted by NC State on Thursday.
The women’s program saw three top-10 program finishes from Lucy Warnick and Sarah Eliason in the Greensboro Aquatic Center, one of the nation’s premier aquatic centers.

Prelims
Prelims began with the 100 butterfly and 400 individual medley events, which saw quick finishes from Sarah Eliason, Lucy Marek and Lucy Warnick. All three would later go on to compete in these events in the finals portion of the meet.
Later, Victoria Schreiber and Tatum Cooley would complete the 200 freestyle and punch their ticket to finals.
Maddie Johnson, Brinley Knoll and Warnick would compete in the 100 breaststroke and all earned times that placed them in the finals for that event.
Several swimmers also set personal bests in the preliminary portion of the meet.
Finals
Finals began with the 200 medley relay, and two BYU relay teams placed in the top 20. Following the relay events, Eliason finished the 100-meter butterfly at 53.88, improving her time as the sixth-fastest performer in BYU history in the event. She also competed on two relay teams, one of which took eighth in the 200 freestyle relay event.
In the next event of the meet, Warnick competed in the 400 individual medley finals and finished with a time of 4:14.35, moving her from third to second all-time in the event. The second-place time was set in 2020 and had not been beaten until Warnick’s performance.
Warnick would also go on to compete in the 100 breaststroke finals and earn a seventh all-time program finish with a time of 1:01.88.
BYU enters day two in seventh with 97 points.
