WACO, Texas — Despite winning the doubles point, the BYU women's tennis team lost 4-1 to UCF on Apr. 18 at the Big 12 Championship.

Chelsea Bluestein was forced to retire due to an injury in the round of singles matches, the first Knights' singles win of four-straight victories.

Doubles Results

Order of finish: 1,3,2

No. 41 Lincer and Rylatt took the first doubles match for UCF, but Levelston and Smith evened the score with a 7-5 win. Huang's and Tan's match came to a tiebreak, which they won 7-3, securing the doubles point for BYU.

Singles Results

Order of finish: 4,5,3,6

Bluestein injured her knee in the second game of her first set and had to retire her match, which tied the overall match 1-1. Tan and Kovick each lost in two sets, putting the Knights one match win away from a victory.

Smith lost her first set but came back in the second and took it to a tiebreak. She was down 6-1 and won the next two points but ultimately lost the tiebreak 7-3. UCF sealed the match victory 4-1.

Huang lost her first set and left her second set unfinished tied 5-5, against No. 98 Lincer. Levelston also lost her first set and was down 5-4 in the second when the Knights clinched a 4-1 win.
