PROVO, Utah—BYU swim and dive leads after the first day of the Air Force/CMU Double Dual.

The BYU A team, led by Tatum Cooley, set a Richards Building Pool record in the 400 freestyle relay.

Swimming
Competition began with the 200 medley relay, where Emma Marusakova, Lucy Warnick, Sarah Eliason and Cooley, representing the BYU A team, took first at 1:41.14. Following the relay event, freshman Brinley Knoll took first in the 400 individual medley, finishing at 4:25.91.

The 100 freestyle followed, where Cooley earned her new top Richards Building Pool performance at 49.74. She was followed closely by Haylee Tiffany, who hit the wall at 50.12 in second.

Next, Marusakova earned a first-place finish in the 100 backstroke at 55.12, while Katya Hulse placed third at 55.47. Lucy Warnick would then take second in the 200 breaststroke at 2:15.15.

Eliason and Lucy Marek earned first- and third-place finishes in the 100 butterfly, with Eliason clocking a time of 54.55 and Marek finishing at 55.40. Victoria Schreiber then competed in the 500 freestyle, where she finished second with a time of 4:56.79.

The concluding event of the day was the 400 freestyle relay, where the A team—composed of Tiffany, Schreiber, Lily Flint and Cooley—took first at 3:20.71, another Richards Building Pool record. The B team—with Eliason, Sophie Scoville, Kara Martinson and Taylor Bennett—also finished second at 3:23.05.

Diving
Sophia DeBergh led the BYU dive team with a third-place finish in the 3-meter event, earning a score of 270.45 on a 15.60 degree of difficulty. Brooklyn Goeckeritz followed in fifth with a 260.25, and Aubryn Ordyna finished 10th at 238.90. Betty Martin also competed, taking 11th at 230.45 on a 15.20 degree of difficulty.
