MEMPHIS, Tenn. — BYU women’s tennis continued its strong start to the spring season with a 4–1 victory over Memphis on Saturday morning at the Leftwich Tennis Center.

The Cougars answered after dropping the doubles point, shifting momentum in singles play with composed performances across the lineup. Karina Mohamed opened BYU’s singles surge at No. 6, earning a straight-set win over Rebecca Frant, 6-2, 6-1, to even the match.

Sage Bergeson followed at No. 4, controlling play to defeat Emma Dvorackova 6-4, 6-1 and give BYU its first lead of the day. Kendall Kovick delivered the clinching point at No. 2, taking care of Alicia Mall 6-3, 6-3, as the Cougars secured the match before the remaining courts were completed.

“We’re happy with how the team competed in Memphis and proud of the progress we’re making,” head coach Holly Hasler said. “This group is building confidence and preparing for tougher challenges ahead. We’re excited to get back home this weekend and compete in front of our fans.”

In doubles, BYU earned wins on courts two and three to battle for early momentum. YuYun Chen and Kovick claimed a 6-4 victory at the No. 2 position, while Bella Lewis and Mohamed matched them with a 6-4 win at No. 3.

With balanced contributions throughout the lineup, the Cougars demonstrated depth and composure on the road to record their seventh win of the season.
