PROVO, Utah – The Cougars will be represented in multis, sprints, throws and jumps at the Don Kirby Invitational on Feb. 13-14 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, while the distance crew headlines the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Feb. 14 in Boston.

Friday’s events are expected to be featured by multis athletes Tia Brown and Zoey Bonds. Brown is set to compete in the long jump and high jump Friday, while Bonds represents in the high jump. Mae Johnson will also compete in the high jump, aiming for her fourth first-place finish of the season.

Lia Katoa, Lia Pili, Jayda Lee and Kat Beachler are set for the weight throw Friday. Katoa sits No. 9 all-time in program history in the weight throw, as she posted 17.60m/57-9 at the Weber State Indoor Invitational earlier this year.

The throws group will start things off Saturday, with Lee, Katoa, Pili, Beachler, Kaiah Fisher and Sarena Mackley set to compete in the shot put. Fisher has placed in the top two in the shot put at two meets this season.

BYU has five athletes racing in the 60-meter hurdles in Bonds, Brown, Mackley, Kali McEuen and Berklie Ahlander. Bonds holds the No. 6 all-time program mark in the event, as she clocked an 8.35.

Paje Rasmussen and Sami Oblad are each lined up for an invite, with Rasmussen competing in the 60m dash and Oblad gearing up for the 400m. Rasmussen set the No. 2 all-time program mark two weeks ago at Utah State’s Roman Ruiz Speed & Power Invitational, and Oblad owns the top spot in her respective event, as she clocked a 51.70 last season.

David Hemery Valentine Invitational

For the third time this season, the distance squad will be at Boston University’s Track & Tennis Center.

Jane Hedengren, Riley Chamberlain, Zariel Macchia and Lexi Goff-Thompson will compete in the invitational mile. It will be Hedengren’s first collegiate attempt in the event, while Chamberlain looks to trim time off her No. 1 all-time program mark of 4:26.19, set last season.

In the 800m invite, Tessa Buswell, Kylie Olsen and Krystie Solomon-Jensen are set to compete. Buswell moved up to No. 4 all-time in program history with a 2:03.19 at last month’s trip to Boston.

Jenna Hutchins and Jacey Harkins-Farmer are competing in the 3000m invite. Both Hutchins and Harkins-Farmer have recent performances that rank them No. 4 and No. 7, respectively, in program history.
