PROVO, Utah — No. 45 BYU women’s tennis returns home this week to host Cincinnati and West Virginia in Big 12 conference play at the Indoor Tennis Courts.
The Cougars enter the weekend with an 11-4 overall record and are currently ranked No. 45 in the ITA Division I national rankings. BYU has been strong at home this season, holding a perfect 4-0 record in Provo, and will look to carry that momentum into conference play.
BYU opens the weekend against Cincinnati on Thursday. The Bearcats come into the matchup with a 6-5 overall record and are 1-3 in Big 12 play. Cincinnati has dropped its last three matches and holds a 1-2 record on the road this season.
The Cougars will return to the courts on Saturday to face West Virginia. The Mountaineers are 6-5 overall and 0-4 in conference play, entering the weekend on a four-match losing streak. West Virginia has been strong at home with a 5-2 record, but has struggled away from Morgantown with a 1-3 record in road matches.
BYU is looking to secure its first Big 12 win of the season after opening conference play 0-3, and the Cougars will aim to take advantage of two home matches this weekend.
