Set 1
The Wolverines earned the opening point, but the Cougars responded with an ace from Hardy to go on a 5-0 run. The teams traded points until BYU extended its lead to 7-3, forcing a UVU timeout. After the break, the Cougars maintained their momentum with another 4-0 run, taking a 13-7 lead before going back and forth for a few points heading into the media timeout ahead 15-8.
Out of the media timeout, BYU continued its momentum with a block from Mortensen and Hardy, followed by a kill from Kate Prior to extend the run to 4-0 and put the Cougars ahead 17-8. BYU added two more points before forcing a UVU timeout. After the break, the Cougars continued to build their lead, reaching 23-11. A kill from Little Chambers brought BYU to set point at 24-11, before Rachel Jepsen closed out the set with a kill, 25-11.
Set 2
The Cougars opened the second set with a kill from Prior and jumped out to a 4-0 lead. After the Wolverines responded with a kill from Olivia Gloeckner, BYU added two more points to force a UVU timeout at 6-1. The Cougars continued their momentum out of the break, going on a 5-0 run to extend its lead to 12-2. The teams then traded points before the media timeout, with BYU leading 15-5.
BYU committed a service error out of the media timeout but responded with a kill from Mortensen to spark a 4-0 run that included an ace from the outside hitter, forcing a UVU timeout with the Cougars ahead 19-6. The Wolverines answered with a kill from Brielle Rueckert, but BYU continued to control the set, extending its lead to 22-8. After back-to-back service errors from both teams, an ace from Dimitra Nanou brought BYU to set point before Mortensen closed out the set with a kill, 25-9.
Set 3
The Cougars opened the third set with a kill from Hardy before the teams traded points to reach 6-5, BYU. The Cougars then took control with a 4-0 run, including two Wolverine attack errors, to take an 8-5 lead. BYU continued to maintain its advantage, with a kill from Jepsen and two more kills from Jepsen helping the Cougars take a 15-8 lead into the media timeout.
BYU earned the first point out of the media timeout, but UVU responded with a 4-0 run to cut the Cougar lead to 16-12 and force a BYU timeout. The Cougars answered with a 3-0 run before the Wolverines added two straight points. BYU maintained its advantage through back-and-forth play, extending its lead to 22-15 with another 2-0 run. After trading points, an ace from Hardy brought the Cougars to match point at 24-16. An attack error from UVU then sealed the set and match for BYU, 25-16, completing the sweep.
