PROVO, Utah — No. 36 BYU women’s tennis opened strong in doubles and never looked back in a 4-0 sweep of No. 73 Kansas State on Thursday afternoon at the BYU Outdoor Tennis Courts.

The Cougars set the tone on Court 1 as the reunited pairing of Gracie Levelston and Kendall Kovick competed together for the first time this dual season after advancing to the NCAA Doubles Championship round of 16 in the fall, the program’s deepest doubles run since 1993.

Levelston provided an early spark, recording three consecutive aces during a key stretch to help the duo secure a 6-4 win.

BYU claimed the doubles point with wins on Courts 1 and 3, as Bella Lewis and Sue Yan Tan added a 7-5 victory to give the Cougars a 1-0 lead.

In singles play, BYU controlled the match across the lineup. Levelston earned a 6-1, 6-1 win on Court 1, followed by a straight-set victory from Kovick on Court 2. Sage Bergeson clinched the match for the Cougars with a 6-2, 6-2 win on Court 5.

With the match decided, the remaining singles contests were left unfinished.

The Cougars secured their 16th win of the season and remained unbeaten at home, continuing momentum in Big 12 play.
