Before BYU

• Holds the second fastest 3200m time in Gig Harbor High School history
• Finished second in the state of Washington in the 3200m and in cross country
• Competed at the NXN National Championships and Footlocker National Championships
• Competed at the Washington State Championships in each of his four high school years
• Recruited by Stanford, Oklahoma State, Portland, Georgetown, Wisconsin and Oregon
