- A Footlocker All-American, two time New Balance Indoor All-American and New Balance Outdoor All-American in high school
- Five-time state champion
- High school coach is Chris Belcher
- National Honor Society member (2008-2012)
- Graduated from Highland High School with high honors
- Eagle Scout with three palms
- Owned and operated a lawn and yard care business
- Started running to follow in the footsteps of his older brother, Taylor
