• 2026 decathlon National Champion earning him First-Team All-American honors
• Five time First Team All-American
• Set No. 2 all-time BYU record in decathlon at NCAA National Championships with 8,169 points
• 2026 USTFCCCA Mountain Region Field Athlete of the year
• Set the BYU school record in the heptathlon with 6,025 points at the 2026 Indoor Track and Field National Championships becoming the first Cougar to ever surpass 6,000 points earing First-Team All-American honors
• 2025 Big 12 Decathlon Champion
• Placed second in the heptathlon with 5,944 points at the 2025 Big 12 Indoor Track and Field Championships
• 2025 First Team All-American with a sixth-place finish in the decathlon at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field& Field Championships (7,777 points)
• 2025 First Team All-American with a fourth-place heptathlon performance at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships (5898 points)
• 2023 First Team All-American with eighth-place decathlon performance at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships (7,815 points)
• No. 3 in the indoor 60-meter hurdles (7.82, 2025)
• In 2023, Barton achieved new personal records in all 10 decathlon events
• 2023 MPSF heptathlon champion 
• USTFCCCA All-Academic honors (2019, 2023, 2025)

Personal

• Parents are Ed and Cindy
• Has five siblings (Liz, Mike, Rob, Dave and Andrew)
• Major: Exercise Science
• Missionary Service: Served a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Reno, Nevada and Hungary/Romania missions(2020-22)
• Speaks both Hungarian and English
• Also enjoys playing football and basketball
• Has 15 nieces and nephews
• Volunteers as a research for the Strong Youth Project 

Before BYU

• Runner-up in both the 300m hurdles and high jump at the 2018 MHSAA DI State Championships
• H.S. Personal Bests: 14.62 (100m hurdles), 37.66 (300m hurdles), 6-9 (high jump)
• Also recruited by Michigan and Michigan State
