Before BYU
- Coached by Dan Niehaus and Tammy Sharp at the West Wind Gymnastics Club in Lethbridge
- Named West Wind Club Athlete of the Year for 1993-94
- Finished second in all-around at the 1992 Japan Friendship Cup
- Also finished second at the 1993 Canadian National Championships
- Finished third in all-around at the 1995 national trials
- Winner of the 1995 Canadian Nationals all-around title
- Recorded high scores of 9.35 on floor, 9.3 on beam and 9.15 on bars
