PROVO, Utah — BYU and Dixie State will play the second of two scheduled baseball games on April 20, at 4 p.m. MT at Miller Park.

The Tuesday evening game will be broadcast live on the BYUtv App as well as online at BYUtv.org with Spencer Linton and Gary Sheide on the call. The BYU Sports Network—BYU Radio FM 107.9, BYUCougars.com and the BYU Cougars app—will have the live radio broadcast of the game with Greg Wrubell and Tuckett Slade calling the game.

The Trailblazers are coming off a weekend split of a four-game home series versus California Baptist. Dixie State took the first two games of the series (3-1 and 2-1), while CBU took games three and four (7-4 and 14-8).

The Cougars are coming off four games last week that included a 7-4 win over rival Utah on Tuesday at Miller Park and three close losses on the road at Omaha (2-1, 6-5 and 4-1).

BYU and Dixie State met earlier this year in St. George on March 16 with the Trailblazers winning 5-4 on a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth at Bruce Hurst Field.

The Cougars are at 11-20 on the year and 6-6 in WCC play. The Trailblazers come into Tuesday’s game with a record of 11-22 and 9-11 in WAC games. BYU and Dixie State have previously met 11 times in baseball, with the Cougars holding a 10-1 advantage. Cougar skipper Mike Littlewood was the head coach at Dixie State from 1996-2012. In 16 seasons, he compiled a record of 605-249 (.708), while leading DSU to four NJCAA College World Series appearances and a NJCAA National Championship in 2004.

Following Tuesday’s home game, the Cougars will travel to Spokane, Washington to take on Gonzaga in a WCC three-game series April 22-24 at Patterson Complex. The Zags are 22-13 on the year and in first place in WCC play at 11-4.
