BREMERTON, Wash. – Zac Blair and Joe Parkinson both shot one-over 73 at the West Coast Conference Golf Championships Tuesday as BYU stands in fourth place after two rounds.

BYU carded a team-score 295 (+7) during today’s second round to stand in fourth place at 10-over-par through two rounds. No. 23 St. Mary’s stands in first place at four-over-par, six strokes better than the Cougars.

“Our guys started pretty poor today and I was really pleased we fought back and made some birdies in the middle of the round,” BYU head coach Bruce Brockbank said. “We gave up five [shots coming in] today. We’ll have to play a great round tomorrow, but that’s what it takes to win a conference championship, you have to come up with something big."

Parkinson had another solid effort, finishing with ten pars and four birdies. The freshman is tied for third place on the individual leaderboard at one-under par, only two strokes back from current tournament leader Grant Forrest (-3) of San Diego.

Blair continued his consistent play, making four birdies and nine pars during round two, including seven straight pars to end the round. At even par through 36 holes, Blair stands tied for fifth place heading into tomorrow’s final round.

Juniors Justin Keiley and Jordan Hammer shot rounds of 74 and 75, respectively. Keiley converted three birdies and 11 pars to finish at two-over-par, while Hammer added four birdies and nine pars on the day.

Sophomore Devon Purser rounded out the lineup, making two birdies and 11 pars to finish with a second round 76 (+4). Purser sits tied for 24th place at six-over-par through 36 holes.

The third and final round begins tomorrow morning with tee times set to start at 8 a.m. PDT. Follow live stats at or visit the WCC Golf Championship Central Page at for scoring updates and video recaps.
