Summary
A 6-foot-8 forward from Salt Lake City, Meads played in 47 games for the Cougars over two seasons, starting in 27 contests and averaging 4.4 points and 3.4 rebounds per game ... He showed promise as a heavily recruited McDonald's High School All-American, but was hampered by injury throughout his collegiate career, including 12 missed games in 2004-05 due to injury ... Because of the ongoing recovery process from his injuries, Meads announced in June 2005 that he was unable to continue playing basketball ... Meads entered his first year with BYU in 2000-01 after selecting the Cougars over Stanford and Utah, but suffered a punctured-lung injury the first week of practice and ended up deciding to redshirt ... After returning from a two-year LDS Church mission and splitting his redshirt season between the fall of 2000 and the winter of 2003, Meads completed his freshman season in 2004 and his sophomore year in 2005 ... As a player he could bang inside but had a nice mid-range game ... Meads has excelled academically at BYU with a 3.81 GPA studying exercise science on the pre-med track with a business minor ... An Academic All-MWC recipient and Cougar Club Scholar Athlete, Meads plans to finish his undergraduate degree at BYU before pursuing a post-graduate education ...
