KAILUA-KONA, Hawaii – The Cougars finished in 10th place at the Nanea Invitational after carding rounds of 298-298-308–904 to finish 28-over-par at Nanea Golf Club.
No. 1 Stanford (279-287-284–850) ran away from the competition as they finished 26-under-par, nine shots ahead of second place No. 8 Arizona State (281-293-285–859). No. 6 Texas (290-279-295–864) finished in third at 12-under-par finish.
Sophomore Maria Jose “MJ” Barragan (73-72-76–221) led the Cougars, finishing 2-over-par in a tie for 20th. Barragan was one of four players to make a birdie this week for the Cougars.
Sunbin Seo (75-75-75–225) completed the week 6-over, placing her tied for 31st.
Senior Alexa Udom (74-75-82–231) tied for 44th, going 12-over-par. Lily McCauley (76-77-80–233) finished 14-over-par to record a 49th-place finish.
Kanyanol (Naji) Aramkul rounded out the scoring for the BYU squad with rounds of 81-76-77–234 to finish 15-over-par.
This concludes fall play for the Cougars. They’ll take a three month hiatus before they tee off at the FAU Paradise Invitational in Boca Raton, Florida on Feb. 3.
