PROVO, Utah — The BYU women's tennis athletes are ready to face their first opponents in September with new recruits, top-100 ITA rankings and a few summer championship titles.

Over the past several months, the team has taken in four new athletes: Chelsea Bluestein, Hiba Heni, Grace Levelston and Sue Yan Tan.

Bluestein is a Florida native and former athlete at the University of Iowa. She posted a 4-5 singles and 3-6 doubles record in the 2023-24 season as a Hawkeye.

Heni is from Tunisia and previously played for Tennis Club Hammamet. She won three ITF tournament titles in 2023 and is currently ranked no. 354 in the world.

Levelston is also from Florida and spent her freshman year at UCF, but she did not play.

Tan is from Singapore and played for the Methodist Girls' School before coming to BYU. She's won six ITF Junior titles, two singles and four doubles.

In the most recent release of the ITA rankings for Division I women's tennis, BYU had three top-100 appearances. For singles, Yujia (Bobo) Huang is ranked no. 90. For doubles, Kendall Kovick and Tan are ranked no. 52, and Huang and Levelston are ranked no. 67.

Huang's ITA rankings were posted after she had an impressive summer playing tennis in China. She won five ITF China doubles titles with various partners, as well as one singles title.

The team will start their fall season in mid-September playing at the SoCal Intercollegiate Championships in San Diego, time TBA.
