The Cougars have three players in the top 25 after day one.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Women’s golf (289-300–589) sits in ninth place after the opening 36 rounds of the Causeway Invitational at Del Paso Country Club.

Alexa Udom leads the Cougars after the opening rounds. Udom shot 73-70–143 while carding six birdies. The senior recorded only one bogey in her second round to boost her up the leaderboard. Udom is tied for eighth leading into tomorrow’s final round.

Oregon State and Sacramento State are co-leading the competition after each carding 14-under throughout their rounds. UC Davis is 14 strokes behind to stand in third place. Colorado (+1) and Cal Poly (+10) rounded out the top five.

Maria Jose “MJ” Barragan (72-74–146) shot 2-over to stand tied for 21st. Lily McCauley shot 5-over with rounds of 72-77–149 to put her in a tie for 43rd.

Sunbin Seo (72-79–151) shot 5-over, putting her tied for 50th. Seo made two birdies in a row in her first round. Kanyanol (Naji) Aramkul is tied for 58th with her rounds that added up to 10-over.

Sophomore Lilly DeNunzio and senior Adeline (Anderson) Wach are competing as individuals. DeNunzio (75-70–145) is tied for 18th with the help of her six birdies in her second round. Wach is tied for 43rd along with teammate McCauley.
