LAHAINA, Hawaii – The Cougars (291-278–569) sits in fifth place after the first 36 holes of the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational at Ka’anapali Golf Course on Tuesday.
Alexa Udom (73-68–141) and Maria Jose "MJ" Barragan (68-73–141) are each in a tie for 14th at 3-under, leading BYU. Udom recorded six birdies in today’s round, helping her climb 24 spots on the individual leaderboard.
Washington leads the event at 17-under, while Oregon State is seven strokes back in second. Sacramento State and Denver are tied for third, two strokes ahead of the Cougars who round out the top 5.
Junior Lily McCauley is even-par through 36 holes with rounds of 75-69–144. Her day two performance was highlighted by four birdies on the back nine. McCauley is tied for 25th.
Adeline (Anderson) Wach shot a 4-under 68 to move up the individual leaderboard. Wach recorded three consecutive birdies on holes 10, 11, and 12, putting her in a tie for 30th. Lilly DeNunzio is tied for 78th.
Overall, BYU has notched the most birdies out of the entire field after making 37 in the first two days
