LAHAINA, Hawaii – Women’s golf (291-278-295–864) finished in fifth place at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational at Ka’anapali Golf Course on Wednesday.

Maria Jose “MJ” Barragan led the Cougars with a fifth place finish at the event. Barragan carded rounds of 68-73-70–211, highlighted by a bogey-free final round. This tournament marks the sophomore’s fourth top five finish this season.

Washington took home the title with their 19-under 845. Sacramento State and Oregon State finished in second and third. Denver notched a fourth-place finish.

Alexa Udom finished tied for 26th with her 1-over 217. Udom made nine birdies throughout the event.

Senior Adeline (Anderson) Wach finished tied for 42nd and junior Lily McCauley finished tied for 56th.

Lilly DeNunzio carded back-to-back birdies on holes 7th and 8th. DeNunzio finished tied for 61st at the tournament.

The Cougars made the fourth-most birdies out of any competitor in the field with their 49 overall.
