SAN FRANCISCO – The Cougars (299-293–592) sit in third place after the opening rounds of the USF Invitational at The Olympic Club on Monday.
Maria Jose "MJ" Barragan leads the Cougars, tied for fifth place. She shot rounds of 72-73–145, with 28 pars, the most of any player in the individual field.
Nevada (295-294–589) leads at 21-over-par. UC Irvine is two strokes ahead of BYU for second, while Washington State and Gonzaga round out the top five.
Junior Lily McCauley (74-72–146) is close behind her teammate, tied for seventh. McCauley posted the second-best performance in the par-4 category, averaging 4.09 on each hole.
Kanyanol (Naji) Aramkul is tied for 21st at 9-over. Adeline (Anderson) Wach started with a 9-over in her opening round but bounced back with a strong 2-over in her second round. The senior is now tied for 33rd.
Alexa Udom is tied for 37th at 12-over-par. Sunbin Seo, competing as an individual, shot an 11-over 153, tying with her teammate Wach.
