Four Cougars named to 2025 Winter Academic All-Big 12 Team

Four BYU women’s basketball players were named to the 2025 Winter Academic All-Big 12 Team, the conference announced on Tuesday afternoon.

IRVING, Texas – Four BYU women’s basketball players were named to the 2025 Winter Academic All-Big 12 Team, the conference announced on Tuesday afternoon.

To receive Big 12 All-Academic honors, each student-athlete had to maintain a 3.20 GPA or higher, either cumulatively or from two previous semesters, and must have participated in 20 percent of the team’s scheduled contests.

With the Big 12’s announcement on Tuesday afternoon, Emma Calvert and Heather Hamson have been named to the All-Big 12 Academic Team for the second-consecutive season. Lauren Davenport and sophomore Amari Whiting each received the honor for the first time in 2024-25.

BYU finished the 2024-25 season with a 13-17 record, going 4-14 in. Big 12 play. Following the season, Lee Cummard was hired as the eighth head coach of BYU women’s basketball and will lead the Cougars into the 2025-26 season.
