FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Colonel Wollenberg Ptarmigan Ram Classic canceled the final round of play due to weather conditions at Ptarmigan Country Club on Tuesday. 

BYU (294-293–587) was able to finish its unplayed holes from round two before the tournament got called off. In 36 holes, the Cougars shot 11-over par to tie for seventh with UC Davis (286-301–587). BYU made four birdies as a team out of the combined 18 holes played from round two to help boost its position four spots higher than Monday. 

Leading after the opening two rounds was Colorado (277-286–563) who put up a 13-under par and the most birdies and eagles before cancellation. The rest of the top five consisted of Cal State Fullerton (278-293–571) and Cal Poly (272-299–571) tied for second at five-under par, UNLV (280-295–575) in fourth at three-under par and Nebraska (284-293–577) in fifth at one-under par.  

Senior Lily McCauley (73-73–146) completed her final three holes of the second round in a par-birdie-bogey sequence. The Washington State transfer shot two-over par to tie for 20th.

The other Cougar in the top 25 was sophomore Kanyanol (Naji) Aramkul (76-71-147). After no birdies in the first round, the Thailand native bounced back in the second with five birdies to shoot three-over par and climb inside the top 25. 

Junior Whitney Banz (74-74–148) ended up tied for 31st after carding four-over par. Banz knocked down one more birdie on Tuesday in her final second round hole to make it four birdies on her scorecard. 

Juniors Maria Jose “MJ” Barragan (74-75–149) and Berlin Long (73-76–149) shared the 39th spot on the leaderboard after shooting five-over par. The Lehi native Long led the team with six birdies with one of them coming in one of her final four holes of round two. Barragan kept her birdie number at four after parring out her remaining holes. 

Senior Sunbin Seo (78-76–154) had a score of 10-over par while participating as an individual. The Timpview product recorded four birdies on her way to a tie for 61st overall. 

Along with BYU men’s golf, the Cougars will look ahead to Fayetteville, Arkansas for the Blessings Collegiate Invitational at Blessings Golf Club on Sept. 29-Oct. 1.
