LIHUE, Hawaii — BYU women’s golf (292-293-287–872) wrapped up the Rainbow Wahine Invitational with a 1-under-par final round to get to fifth place with 8-over par at The Ocean Course at Hokuala on Wednesday.

“We’re happy with the top five finish to end the fall,” said head coach Carrie Roberts. “I’m proud of the girls for stepping up and competing a little bit more like we know how.”

Baylor (279-295-277–851) claimed the trophy by posting an 11-under-par score, the best score on the day. The Bears led the field with three eagles on their way to first place. Santa Clara (280-291-289–860) and Missouri (287-288-285–860) tied for second at 4-under par. Eastern Michigan (289-298-280–867) came in fourth at 3-over par followed by the Cougars to close out the top five.

Maria Jose “MJ” Barragan (70-73-71–214) earned 10th at 2-under par after recording a 1-under-par day. This marks the junior’s seventh top-10 finish in her BYU career.

“It was all about trusting in the number and the club I was going to hit and commit to it,” said Barragan. “I feel my numbers with my irons were pretty good, so I was giving myself opportunities for birdie all the time. Even though I didn’t make a lot, I stayed pretty patient. This offseason, I want to focus on my short game, to score better and be able to shoot more under par.”

Ava Schroeder (71-72-75–218) and Kanyanol (Naji) Aramkul (76-72-70–218) ended with a share of 18th at 2-over par. Schroeder capped off the event with a 3-over-par closing round. Aramkul carded her final round with a 2-under and ended up leading BYU in made birdies with nine in the tournament.

Lily McCauley (75-76-73–224) finished tied for 47th at 8-over par after a 1-over-par Wednesday. Whitney Banz (78-77-73–228) completed the event with a 1-over-par final round and finished tied for 70th at 12-over.

“We’re excited in January to clean up a few things so we can come ready in the spring,” said Roberts.

The fall portion of the season has now concluded for the Cougars. BYU will hit the links for the Collegiate Invitational at Guadalajara in Guadalajara, Mexico after the break on Jan. 30-31, 2026.
