PROVO, Utah — Six BYU swimmers will travel to Sarasota, Fla., for the 2025 CSCAA Open Water Championship on Saturday.
Representing the BYU men’s team will be Darwin Anderson, Tanner Nelson and Dane Weber. All three participated in the MPSF Open Water Championship in October at Marine Stadium in Long Beach, Calif. Anderson led the Cougars with a ninth-place finish in the 5K at 1:02:15.80. Weber finished 16th at 1:04:51.39, and Nelson took 29th, finishing at 1:14:18.78.
Representing the BYU women’s team will be Cher Patrick, Victoria Schreiber and Melissa Turlea. Patrick and Turlea also competed at the MPSF Open Water Championship earlier in the season. Patrick led the way for BYU, finishing at 1:04:50.00, earning her 15th, and Turlea took 32nd at 1:07:14.00.
Following this weekend's competition, BYU swim and dive will compete in Honolulu against Hawai'i on Jan. 3.
