Cougars debut outdoor season at Utah Tech Invitational

BYU will kick off its outdoor track & field season in the Utah Tech Invitational at Greater Zion Stadium in St. George, Utah on March 21.

PROVO, Utah – BYU will kick off its outdoor track & field season in the Utah Tech Invitational at Greater Zion Stadium in St. George, Utah on March 21.

The throws group will be represented by Kat Beachler, Kaiah Fisher, Jayda Lee, Lia Pili and Sarena Mackley. Beachler, who holds the No. 7 all-time mark at BYU in the outdoor shot put, is set to compete in the shot put and javelin. Fisher and Pili will also compete in the shot put and discus, while Lee is entered in the discus. Mackley rounds out the group, competing in the javelin, discus, long jump and 200-meter.

Cambria Hasler, Kali McEuen, Paje Rasmussen and Mikensi Smith will race in the 4x100m. McEuen and Rasmussen were part of the Big 12 title 4x400m squad and will also compete in the 400m. Hasler is entered in the 100m, while Smith will race in the 200m.

Mae Johnson will represent the Cougars in the high jump, entering as the top seed.

Tia Brown and Berklie Ahlander are set to compete in the 100m hurdles, each making her debut in the event. Brown and Ahlander will also compete in the 400m hurdles alongside Mayci Taylor and Madelynne Taggart.
