LAS VEGAS — Maria Jose “MJ” Barragan (74-71–145) posted a 1-over-par day and sits tied for fourth place in the Lady Luck Invitational at Las Vegas Country Club on Monday. 

BYU women’s golf (312-308–6) recorded a 41-over-par scorecard and ended up in 12th through two rounds. 

“Not our best,” head coach Carrie Roberts said. “Hopefully, we can make some adjustments and do better tomorrow.”

UCF (304-280–584) shot 8-over par and led the field with 29 birdies on its way to leading the event through two rounds. The Knights recorded an 8-under-par second round, the lowest round of the day, and the only team with an under-par round. Kent State (294-294–588) concluded the first two rounds in second at 12-over par. Houston’s (296-298–594) 18-over-par scorecard gave it third place through 36 holes and UNLV (295-302–597) put itself in fourth at 20-over par. The Cougars and Rebels were the only schools to card an eagle on Monday. To round out the top-5, Oregon State (307-291–598) found itself in fifth at 22-over par with 18 holes to play.  

Barragan finds herself five strokes off from the lead and one stroke back of second place. The junior put herself in contention for her first individual win since the USF Invitational in April 2025.

Kanyanol (Naji) Aramkul (75-77–152) finished Monday in a share of 26th after carding an 8-over par.

Lily McCauley (81-79–160) is tied for 60th on the day with a 16-over-par score. 

Ava Schroeder (84-81–165) sits tied for 71st at 21-over par and Whitney Banz (82-86–168) recorded a 24-over par for the 75th spot.
