LAS VEGAS — Women’s golf (312-308-307–927) concluded the Lady Luck Invitational in 12th after a 19-over-par final round at Las Vegas Country Club Tuesday.

UCF (304-280-282–866) recorded a 6-under-par round three to secure the title on the 6,529-yard course. The Knights’ 45 birdies led the field and helped put them at 2-over par for the event. Kent State (294-294-291–879) carded a 3-over par and finished in the runner-up spot at 15-over par in 72 holes. Houston’s (296-298-292–886) 4-over-par final round placed it third with a 22-over par score. Host UNLV (295-301-291–887) ended its play in fourth at 23-over par. At 30-over par, Oklahoma State (308-298-288–894) posted an even-par day to surpass Oregon State for the fifth spot to round out the top-5 finishers. 

Maria Jose “MJ” Barragan (74-71-77–222) was the top Cougar in the tournament after posting a 6-over on her scorecard. Barragan’s final round of 5-over par placed her in a tie for 15th, giving her four top-15 finishes this season and 12 in her career.

Kanyanol (Naji) Aramkul (75-77-81–233) carded a 9-over on the day on her way to a share of 43rd.

Lily McCauley (81-79-75–235) posted the lowest round for BYU on Tuesday with 3-over par. This brought the senior to a draw at 52nd.

Ava Schroeder (84-81-77–242) went home being tied for 69th at 26-over par. Whitney Banz (82-86-78–246) tied for 73rd at 30-over par. 

BYU will aim to bounce back in the Betsy Rawls Invitational in Austin, Texas at UT Golf Club on March 16-17.
