At BYU

SENIOR: Joined the team in mid-season after recovering from surgery ... recorded saves against New Mexico, Southern Utah and Washington ... his loss came against San Diego State in the game suspended in Provo and completed at SDSU ... had a good middle-game relief effort in the victory over No. 15 Cal State Northridge in the NCAA post-season. JUNIOR: Had 24 appearances last season with three saves and a 5.87 ERA with an 0-3 record in 23 innings and one start ... his saves came at Fresno State, at Southern Utah and against UNLV. SOPHOMORE: Posted a 3-4 record with a 7.49 ERA in 2000 with 11 starts in 15 games ... struckout 47 in 57.2 innings and had three pickoffs ... victories came against Mesa State, Air Force and Utah.

Prepped at Nease High in St. Augustine, Fla., where he was all-county, all-city and team MVP as a pitcher and centerfielder ... coached by Tony Sowers (Florida).

FREHSMAN: Played in 1999 for Jacksonville University, where he helped them to the NCAA Regionals in Tallahassee ... had a 7-1 record with a 4.36 ERA in 20 appearances, 15 starts, three complete games, 84.2 innings and 59 strikeouts (23 called) ... was all-tournament at the Trans America Athletic Conference.
