Graduated from BYU in 2000 with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting and business administration ... during his years at BYU earned additional four All-American titles (for the total of six) and was honored as the Most Valuable and the Most Improved swimmer of the year ... in 1999 received Ed Stein Award presented annually to the most outstanding senior athlete who has displayed great desire, performance, and scholarship ... holder of the BYU 100 breast record ... parents are Aleksey and Svetlana.

High School - Attended Moscow School 1414.
Prior to his collegiate career, was a member of the Russian Junior National Team ... selected as talented young swimmer, Dmitri trained with top Russian athletes at Olympic bases in the former Soviet Union until 1991 ... in 1995 Dmitri accepted swimming scholarship at the University of Alaska, Anchorage where he set new records in 100 and 200 breast, placed second at NCAA Championship and earned two All-American titles ... after spending his freshmen year in Alaska, Dmitri accepted swimming scholarship and transferred to BYU as a sophomore in 1996.
