BYU Highlights
Brooks was a running back at BYU for one year (2022) as a graduate transfer from Cal-Berkeley. He appeared in 11 games, including eight starts. Although brief, Brooks' BYU career was marked by a number of accomplishments:
- No. 4 all-time at BYU in single-season yards per carry (6.28)
- Named to Phil Steele All-Independent First Team
- Named to College Football Network All-Independent Second Team
- Despite missing two games with injury, finished the season with 130 carries for 817 yards and six touchdowns, averaging 6.28 yards per carry and 74.3 yards per game
- Recorded 10 receptions for 98 yards, giving him 915 all-purpose yards for the 2022 season
- Named one of three candidates for the Doak Walker National Running Back of the Week (Sept. 7, 2022) for his 135 yards and one touchdown in BYU's 50-21 win at USF on Sept. 3.
- A BYU career-best 23 carries for 164 yards in the Cougars' 35-26 win at Stanford on Nov. 26.

- Son of Raquel Brooks
- He changed his last name from Brown to Brooks between the 2020 and 2021 seasons in honor of his mother by taking her maiden name
- Has a personal best 275 in bowling
Before BYU
- Cal's leading rusher in two of the past three seasons before coming to BYU
- Played in 40 games for Cal from 2018 to 2021 and totaled 1,734 yards rushing with 14 touchdowns on the ground while adding 50 catches for 345 receiving yards and seven touchdowns as a receiver
- Signed with the Golden Bears in 2018 after amassing 3,249 yards rushing and 34 scores with 25 receptions for 260 yards during his final three seasons at El Camino High School
- Led Cal in rushing as a sophomore in 2019 when he played in all 13 games, including 12 starts, and ran for 914 yards and eight touchdowns while also catching 22 passes for 166 yards and four more scores
- Averaged a 5.2 yards per carry in 2021 to total a team-leading 607 rushing yards with four touchdowns, while adding 19 receptions for 131 yards and three touchdowns as a receiver. Finished the season with 240 rushing yards over the final three games
- Had four career 100-yard rushing games at Cal—against UC Davis (197), Illinois (120) and UCLA (111) in 2019 and a season-high 131 yards against Stanford in 2021
- Appeared in all 13 games off the bench as a true freshman in 2018, contributing 148 rushing yards and 31 receiving yards
- Slowed by injury, he played in just three games during the pandemic season of 2020 with 65 yards rushing
