IRVING, Texas — BYU women's volleyball freshman outside hitter Suli Davis earned her fifth Big 12 Rookie of the Week nod of the season, the league announced on Tuesday.
Davis led the Cougars with 43 kills on a .410 clip last week, fueling BYU with a pair of double-doubles, including in a sweep of No. 13 Kansas where she hit .462. She now leads the Cougars with eight double-doubles on the season.
The outside hitter tied her career high with 28 kills against Arizona, also breaking the program's rally-scoring era kills record in the match. Davis finished with 24 digs, three assists, two blocks and one ace on the week.
The award is BYU's fifth weekly honor of the season. Davis was also named Rookie of the Week on Sept. 9, Oct. 7, Oct. 21 and Nov. 4. Baylor is the only other program in the conference with a repeat rookie honoree. The Bears have been honored six times this year, with three different players earning an award.
The Cougars have now received nine Rookie of the Week awards since joining the Big 12. Middle blocker Mia Lee (2023) and setter Alex Bower (2024) were both honored twice in their freshmen seasons.
