- Named All-District as a junior
- Helped Kirksville to an undefeated regular season for the first time in school history and conference championship
- Named All-state football academic team as a sophomore, junior and senior
- Earned a spot on the honor roll all four years of high school
- Also competed in track & field shotput and discus events
- Placed fifth in the state in discus
- Qualified for the junior Olympics when he was eight and earned two gold medals
