Before BYU
- Named Region MVP as a senior
- Earned first-team all-state honors senior year
- Won Mr. Charger Of the Year
- Helped Corner Canyon to two state titles
- First-team all-region and second-team all-state as a junior
- Had nine career interceptions, two touchdowns on defense and totaled 211 tackles in high school
- Also played basketball and competed in track and field
- Won the state title in the 4x400 relay
- Earned a spot on the honor roll every quarter of high school
- Also recruited by Colorado, Utah State, Nevada, San Diego State, Pennsylvania and Columbia
