Coached by Al Jacobus at Sweetwater High...was all-league first team two years, All-CIF honorable mention in '78 and All-CIF second team in 1979...was the top triple jumper and long jumper in his county...was recruited by San Diego State, Hawai'i and Ivy League schools.
