Parents are Carl and Myrna...brother, Neils, played for BYU from '75-'82...married Roma Millward in April '83...served an LDS mission to Bristol, England...recruited by Utah State, Idaho State, UNLV and Idaho...majoring in agricultural economics.
Before BYU
Lettered three times in football and track and four times in wrestling...was all-state on offense and defense...All-American as a wrestler and was undefeated in '79...coached by Bill Young at Valivue High.

Attended Ricks College for two years...was all-conference twice and team captain.
