- Three-year letterman at Orem High School
- First-team All-State linebacker in 2007 and Red Zone Player of the Year
- Helped team to 8-4 record as a senior while serving as team captain
- 2007 Academic All-Region
- Four-year letter winner in track and two letters in wrestling
