Prepped at Buchannan High where he won the Bear Award for athletic and academic achievement...was the school's athlete and pitcher of the year...was all-league in baseball and basketball...coached by Greg Funk.

Transferred from College of the Sequoias where he made the Dean's List...was All-CVC for two years...selected All-Northern California and was the team's pitcher of the year.
