• Cousin Hunter Dimick was a defensive end at the University of Utah and was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars
• Eagle Scout
• Served a mission to Resistencia, Argentina
• Majoring in Spanish

Before BYU

• Prepped at Snow Canyon High School where he was coached by Reed Secrist and Wally Ritchie
• Recorded 317 strikeouts in varsity prep baseball career
• Gatorade Utah baseball player of the year and 3A MVP as a senior in 2013
• Second team all state as a freshman l and First team all state as a sophomore, junior, and senior
• Had a 4-6 record, a 0.83 ERA and 114 strikeouts in 59 innings, batting .432 as a senior
• in 2013 also playing at first base, batted .446 with three home runs and 37 RBI
• Team won back-to-back 3A titles
• Had a 9-1 record season as a junior in 2012 when he struck out 109 batters and had a 0.82 ERA in 59 innings, batting .375
• As a sophomore he batted .450 with 16 doubles and three home runs
• 3A all-tournament team and third team All-American honors voted on by the NHSBCA (National High School Baseball Coaches Association).
• Class valedictorian
• Recruited by Arizona, Kentucky, Arkansas, LSU, Utah, San Diego, New Mexico, Stanford, Cal State Northridge, Dixie State and SLCC.
