Parents are Shar and the late Jim Griffitts...served a mission to Caracas, Venezuela, from 1988-90...recruited by Air Force and Washington State...majoring in secondary education and Spanish.

Student body president at Couer d'Alene High...league MVP and defensive player of the year...all-state in football...also lettered in baseball and track...coached by Larry Schwenke.

Moved from strong safety to linebacker. Started a second year.
