- Prepped at Springville High School in Springville, Utah
- Played both defensive and offensive line for the Red Devils
- Helped team to be Region Champions in 2015 and 2016
- Named 2017 All-State
- Recorded 63 tackles and 6.5 sacks as a senior in 2016
- Known for his physical, tough play on both sides of the ball
- Named Daily Herald Valley Player of the Year in basketball at Springville HS
- Averaged 15 points and 7.1 rebounds as a senior
- Also recruited by Weber State and Southern Utah
