Before BYU
MAGRATH HIGH SCHOOL:
- Balderson averaged 34 points, 9.2 rebounds and 6.8 assists while leading Magrath High School in Alberta, Canada, to a 32-3 record as a senior
 - Shot 54 percent from the floor and 91 percent from the free-throw line
 - Two-time league MVP and scoring champion
 - Named the Alberta Player of the Year and was Magrath High School's Male Athlete of the Year
 - Selected as Alberta's Quarterback of the Year
 - Member of All-Canadian Team
 - Ranked second at Nike All-Canada Camp
 - Played on the Under 19 Alberta Provincial Team the summer after his senior year
 - Coached at Magrath by Phil Tollestrup, who played basketball at BYU (1970-72).
