- Four-time All-American
- Named All-HCAC five times, four times in cross country and once for winning the 5,000-meters at the conference track championships
- Took first place in the NCAC/NCAA Region VII Cross Country Championships in 1984 and 1985
- Placed first among BYU runners at cross country nationals in 1983, 1984 and 1985
- Named Academic All-HCAC and Cougar Club Academic Athlete all four years
- Also received the Leona B. Holbrook Spirit of Sport Award during the 1985-86 school year

- Came to BYU as a walk-on from Broomfield, Colo.
