Summary
A 6-foot-6 guard, Jimmy Balderson finished his BYU career as one of only 19 Cougars to have played in at least 115 games for BYU. He ranked fourth on the team in scoring and rebounding as a senior after leading all perimeter players in shooting in 2006 and pacing the Cougars in three-point percentage in 2005, making 16 starts after coming out of a planned redshirt year. Balderson played in 27 of 30 games as a freshman reserve on BYU's 18-12 team that advanced to the second round of the 2002 NIT, logging 8.5 minutes per game while shooting .487 from the floor to lead all BYU perimeter players. A talented scorer, he has excellent range from the three-point arc and has good size. He led the Canadian National Development Team in scoring at the World University Games in Izmir, Turkey, in August of 2005. During the eight-game tournament, Balderson averaged 14.9 points and 4.1 rebounds while shooting 50 percent from the floor and 40 percent from three-point range.
